First, Will and the Greeze talk about a lot of random things before getting to their topic of adding water to whiskey. They talk about this article, loosely. Then, after the 15, they drink Rowan's Creek. Enjoy.
We were super excited about doing a clever Wheel of Fortune-style "before & after" for this week's title. First, we try Leisuremann's Travel Old Fashioned Mix. You can check it out here. Then, after the 15, we try Fighting Cock. We somehow get off on a tangent about the ethics of rooster fighting. Enjoy.
First, Will surprises Greeze with a sample that a friend sent them. It's a delicious member of the BTAC family that Greeze has not had before. Then they discuss great bourbons to drink with your buddies when you need to go all night. Thanks Brian for the topic. Then they try Willett 3 year rye in the 15. This one is 108.6 proof.
In this bonus episode, we take you to the Southern Whiskey Society event, which happened on Aug. 5, 2017. You hear from our friends Chad and Sara from It's Bourbon Night, Chef Cole Ellis, Chef Jean Paul Bourgeois, Dixon Dedman of Kentucky Owl, and Chris Thomas from Made South. You'll hear the guys go 0-60 in a Tesla with Dixon Dedman, eat delicious food, and drink delicious whiskey.
Will and the Greeze get into a discussion about liquor stores that offer "bourbon clubs," in light of a recent local shop that decided to offer one. These clubs offer many perks, but the main reason many folks join is a chance to buy highly allocated releases like Pappy and BTAC. Greeze has been a fan of these groups for a while, but a new shop's offering has caused quite a stir in our local bourbon community. The two analyze this new offering and talk about the pros and cons of stores offering these types of groups. Then, after the 15, the guys drink 1792 full proof.
